A LOLER thorough examination is a detailed safety inspection of lifting equipment carried out by a competent person in accordance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER). It ensures equipment is safe to use and legally compliant, with certification provided after inspection.

LOLER examinations are legally required:

  • Every 6 months for equipment used to lift people

  • Every 6 months for lifting accessories such as chains and slings

  • Every 12 months for lifting equipment used for loads only
Additional examinations are required after installation, major repairs, or exceptional circumstances.

We work on a wide range of crane and plant equipment, including HIAB and lorry loader cranes, excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, lifting accessories, etc. If your equipment is used for lifting or plant operations, it is likely covered.
